It appears that the syntax #(list %1 %2) is not in use in Emacs Lisp.
%1 is a symbol so it can be a variable.
So we could implement that same syntax.
One wrinkle is that read needs to distinguish this construct
from strings with text properties.
A string with text properties starts with #( followed by an ordinary string.
They can be distinguished, but it is somewhat ugly.
It appears that the Emacs Lisp Reference Manual doesn't describe
all of read syntax in any one concise place. It would be good
to add an appendix with that.
