Wholeheartedly agreed.  In particular with all that blank space at the
right side of the minibuffer window.

Have either of you tried Ivy + ivy-rich + ivy-posframe?

Unfortunately, drop-down lists are
inherently modal like menus.You cannot, for example, show a list of
candidates and do some other things in between on the same frame before
making your choice.

That's true of any browser as well.
