About the new directory org-persist in .emacs.d |

After the last build from master I found this `org-persist` in `.emacs.d`..
Really we need that directory? Which is its usefulness?
So far editing `ORG` docs worked fine also without that folder, I don't notice
any difference since it showed up in my `.emacs.d` folder, and I would be
grateful if I can avoid its creation.. How?
