* feature proposal: gnus-annotate.el
Hi all
Please find attached a small package, =gnus-annotate.el=.
It strikes me as too modest to release it via ELPA or MELPA.
*What it does:*
It allows users to attach annotations to selected messages in the Gnus summary
buffer, while also adding a corresponding registry mark.
The following functions are provided:
=my-gnus-show-annotation=, =my-gnus-add-annotation=, =my-gnus-edit-annotation=,
and =my-gnus-kill-annotation=.
*Related packages:*
*Gnus-bookmark* permits users, much like the standard bookmark facility, to
attach bookmarks to individual messages—bookmarks to which annotations may then
be added.
The present package is considerably simpler.
There are also packages such as *gnorb* and *gnus-notes*, which allow the
creation of links, annotations, and similar metadata within an Org buffer,
pointing back to messages.
Should this package attract interest, perhaps it might eventually be integrated
into Gnus itself.
BTW, Gnus still lacks a =gnus-summary-limit-to-registry-marks= function.
Regards
Uwe Brauer
