Use org-occur to create such a tree.

Interactively with

 C-c / \[[ X]\] RET

or, if you want to do this more often, with a special command

(defun my-checkbox-tree ()
        (interactive)
    (org-occur "\\[[ X]\\]" 'org-at-item-p))
