[Orgmode] checkbox statistics

Hello, currently checkbox statistics only takes into account checkboxes
on a single indent level.  I would prefer checkbox statistics to show
the total number of checkboxes below them, regardless of level.

Currently:

|    1) [-] 1
|       * [X] a
|       * [X] b
|       * [X] c
|       * [ ] d
|       * [ ] e
|    2) [-] 2
|       * [X] a
|       * [X] b
|       * [ ] c

What I would like is:

|       * [ ] d

Is it possible somehow?
