I am also using flyspell-mode but I am not facing any problem.

GNU Emacs 23.0.60.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.12.11) of 2009-01-29 on
noorul
Org-mode version 6.33trans

The problem might be with the Emacs version for Mac?

Thanks
Noorul
