Bastien pointed you to the mailcap files. The mailcap man page says

       
$HOME/.mailcap:/etc/mailcap:/usr/share/etc/mailcap:/usr/local/etc/mailcap  --  
default  path
       for mailcap files.

so those are the files to check.
