Thanks for joining the discussion!  Actually, the Pandoc/RMarkdown
syntax was sort of the starting point of the proposal we are currently
discussing, though it has evolved a lot since then because of Org users'
diverse needs.

Yes indeed.  We have yet to discuss syntax for this type of
citation-related metadata.  I think we should start another thread for
this.
