Hello,
I have a question I would like to discuss: should *all* glyphs in an
oblique/italic font be slanted, or are there exceptions? I can think of
box-drawing characters and mathematical operators as possible exceptions,
for instance. Does anybody know of some recommended practice in this
issue?
I guess I am not the only one confused about this issue. As you know, Free
Serif and Free Sans are built atop URW++ Nimbus Roman No.9 and URW++ Nibus
Sans L. Even these two differ in the treatment of italicization: in Roman,
mathematical operators are set upright even in the italic versions of the
font, while in Sans L they are slanted along with the other glyphs.
With kind regards,
Primoz
