Dear Mr. Esposito,
As the FreeFont was compiled by Primož Peterlin, and my fonts were used to
form just one part of it, I suggest that you contact him about this issue.
It can be related to the specific format he distributes.
Anyway, in order to investigate the problem he or I would need the following
information: the operating system and software used (with version numbers
specified), and a sample document which demonstrates the issue.
You may also wish to try the original Hebrew fonts (available at
culmus.sf.net for Unix/Linux only) and see whether the issue exists there
too.
Thank you,
-- Maxim.

Subject: FreeFont problem with Hebrew
Dear Mr Iorsh,
First of all, congratulations to you and all the contributors of Free
Font: it's really the most complete font I've ever found. Thanks to your
work, I can use one serif font with all the scripts and diacritics for
transliteration.
I'm a researcher at the Department of Asian Studies of the University of
Naples L'Orientale, and I would like to advise this fonts to colleagues
and professors.
But I've found a problem with Hebrew in Free Serif (at least on
Macintosh): all letters, vowels and cantillation signs are displayed
correctly, except for the shin and the sin with the dot upon.
If I try to type a shin or a sin with the dot directly from the
keyboard, only the letter without the dot is typed, followed by a blank
space; it only works if I insert them from the characters palette. Even
if I copy and paste, the dots on shin and sin are replaced by blank spaces.
Will this be fixed?
Best regards and thank you for your work,
Raffaele Esposito
