Well, I am certainly unqualified to make these determinations.

It was Paul Wisewho wrote me, and it was about the Debian package

http://packages.debian.org/sid/ttf-mph-2b-damase

It is a collection including apparently hand-drawn glyphs for several
Indian character ranges. They aren't beautiful (to my eyes), but
perhaps could be useful.

I have read that the range of glyphs in the Kharoṣṭhī range there is
not usable as-is, because of a lack of font features.

The base requirement for a range of glyphs to be included, will be
that they are useful for rendering text for the main purpose (here,
text in the given language).

So: If a speaker of these languages could tell me, if these glyphs
are adequate for rendering text, that would be helpful. Then I would
want to know how they look.

Cheers!
