Well, it looks like you are correct. I just tried running your groupbox.rbw
sample and it still fails. :-(

I can't explain why I can now run FreeRIDE, but the threading bug is
definitely still there.

An alternative that works for me is to run Andy;'s Windows Installer first,
and then build the latest Ruby and install that on top of Andy's stuff. That
way I don't have to build all of the extensions.
