Lyle,

I thought the popen_test.rb file I posted before was working but actually it wasn't. I have reshaped popen_test.rb to make the thread problem even more visible on Win32. Here is the new program:

(please other FR developpers tell me if this program runs correctly and which Ruby platform/version do you use)

Guys,

For your information what I have found here is a (very recently) known problem in 1.7.x on MSWin32. So it sounds like FR users on Windows will have to wait a bit more to see a fully working FR.

I guess it also impact the addInput() method in FXRuby but I'm speaking under the control of Lyle here.

My bug submission is at:
 http://www.ruby-lang.org/cgi-bin/ruby-bugs/incoming?id=401

Nobu Nakada posted a comment at the and but I'm not sure if this is a workaround that I can use in FR or if he is commenting on how things can be fixed internally in Ruby. Any idea?

See also thread ruby-talk:45949 at http://www.ruby-talk.org/cgi-bin/vframe.rb/ruby/ruby-talk/45948?45883-47186

That's it for now... and IO on Win32 really sucks :-(
