Well, no hurry. As you pointed out, Freetalk /is/ addictive and I really
should be doing other things. I'll better don't look into the jingle
stuff right now. Will Vikas file all remaining tasks, issues and
problems in the Savannah bugs area once he finished Summer of Code? I
think this way the libjingle version could nicely be turned into a
beta/release version.

Again, agreed. As I said, I did some hacking, but it’s a mess (what I
did, not what I found :-) ). Maybe with the jingle release, things like
this get easier.

I don't think it’s actually missing. JEP-0018 suggests

<presence type="invisible"/>

And I think, this will let you disappear from your contacts’ rosters (I
tried it once using Psi). So it would be an easy extension of the
current /status functionality. I’ll see. Or you could file a bug/feature
request ;-)
