Aren't there ways to get around forming a formal organization to support Free Software in Canada? Or are there other simpler organizations that can be formed to support the activities of various Canadian groups?

*It's hard to quantify interest, unless manifested in the posts ;)
*It will become what we make of it.
*The discussions I read involved travel to meetings - unaffordable for me personally, since I don't live near to central Canada.
*I have a bit of experience derived from being on the boards of two non-profits, but zero in setting up an agency - I understand that it involves a huge effort - a high threshhold.
But, once done, there is less effort in maintenance.
*The key is in finding a starting point.
