[fsfc-discuss] Free Software Foundation supporters in Canada

  Just a note to say I received a reply from FSF executive director 
John Sullivan about our question about having a Canadian FSF regional 
group similar to what exists for FSF Europe or FSF Latin America.  I've 
asked permission to forward the message to this list, or if he could 
forward it himself.



  To avoid confusion about what we currently are, which is a group of 
Canadians who are supporters of the Free Software Foundation (and not a 
formal organisation), I've updated the splash page at http://fsf.ca to 
say "Free Software Foundation supporters in Canada" rather than "Free 
Software Foundation Canada".


  I think we should also feel free to continue as we have been doing 
and discuss things in this forum other than the creation of a new group. 
 We may or may not accomplish that goal in the future, but there are 
things that FSF supporters in Canada can be doing and talking about in 
the interim.
