[Gcgi-user] Solaris library

hello,
using gcgi-0.9.5.tar.gz

I'm trying to run this on a sparc solaris 2.8 machine. it has gcc2.95.3 on it.

I configure, I make and then in the srcs subdirectory i get a 
libgcgi.la

whowerver i was expecting a libgcgi.a
and when i  put libgcgi.la into my lib directory and
put -lgcgi the compiler says it cant find it.

Anyone got any suggestions. I don't know a alot about Make so if things don't 
work out of the box then i have problems.
