I don't believed they used chroot, although it was talked about a lot. There
was a special cvs shell that Uriah developed, which only allowed commands which
were piped to CVS. That shell may still be in the CVS tree, or in one of the
old tarball releases (I can provide the old releases if you need them).

The old 2.5 release may also contain other scripts of value, as I think 2.5
was before the move to LDAP.
