I attempted to update gforth to 0.7.3 but it throws errors on
attemping to byte compile gforth.el for emacs24.

Uninstalling all the way back to the version that is available on
Ubuntu 12.4 dist (0.7.0) didn't help. In fact, when I uninstalled
gforth-0.7.0 and tried to reinstall it, the same failure occurs.

Despite all the errors the installations appear to go okay and
versions from 0.7.0 to 0.7.3 appear to run without drama in Emacs 24.3

Here is the terminal trace for attempting to install gforth 0.7.0 from
Ubuntu dist:

address@hidden:~$ sudo apt-get install gforth
