Hello,
After long thoughts and an extensive search on the net, I've decided that I
will neither write a new GUI nor a new 3d engine. Although I love to rewrite
the whole universe, I simply do not have time. This means that:
- Actual libgag will be cleaned and improved. If TMM still wants to work on
this, we'll be able to make it soon. The agenda includes adding an external
painter and widget implementation cleanup. I plan to improve the drawSurface
blitter so that it supports correctly alpha as well as scaling and repeating.
This will provide sufficient generality to implement all sort of themed GUI.
I also plan to drop glSDL and write a clean GL accelerated backend as I began
one year ago.
- The future projects (both in lab and private) that required 3d will use an
existing engine, such as NeL, OGRE or NeoEngine.
This is a good enws for glob2, as I will be able to use part (small but still)
of ECAgents man mounth on Temm integration to improve glob2.
Have a nice day,
Steph
