Hi Gaius!
Some information for the Windows-people.
I just reinstalled an updated Cygwin environment and tried to build gm2
(I think it would be a good idea to mention the required packages in the
docs - especially unexpected ones like python, dejagnu and some other
more expected ones like make, flex and autoconf; these are not installed
by default).
I tried to build gm2 using gcc 4.3.4 and got the following error:
Compiling /gm2-cvs-latest/libiberty/strsignal.c:409: error: conflicting
types for 'strsignal'
/usr/include/string.h:91: error previous declaration of 'strsignal' was here
I am not sure this one hasn't been reported already but I found the
following message:
http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-06/msg00368.html
and an answer explaining the problem:
http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-06/msg00369.html
Eric Blake mentions a patch for this in the second message but it
obviously didn't find its way into the latest Cygwin release.
The first message documents a dirty "hack" by commenting out strsignal
in string.h - well, I will try that and let you know if it works for now.
So this is not a gm2-error but I just wanted to inform people that
Cygwin still doesn't work - but I saw the gm2-compiler build without
problems...
Regards
Christoph
