I build plain gcc-6.5.0.  and using this for gcc-8.2.0+gm2-1.8.2 failed 
early, maybe jump was too wide. will try again thru 7, and 8 to reach 
version 9, but chances on osx-ppc seems small.

I suspect 4.7.4 (or gcc-5 maybe gcc-6) now is the only stable option for 
old powermacs.

About pth i found nPth (ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/npth), appear as 
another option.
