IrDa not receiving my 6610...

I don't know if I should ask it here, because it's the IrDa port that
doesn't seem to work.
This is what's going on:

All of this is happening with my brand new 6610 in front of the IrDa
port of my Dell Inspiron 8000.  The Ir connection of the 6610 enabled of
course...

I know nothing (and I do mean nothing) of all of this, so I don't know
what to try next...
It seems like my IrDa port can only send, and does not receive...
Is this a kernel module problem ?  I know even less about that, so I
can't check it.

Help is welcome.
