Found the error: the authentification is done by a daemon, which did not
start because of a syntax error (missing ";" as always ;-)

After the daemon (hcsecd) started I could type in the PIN on the phone
and xgnokii started; the PIN (and a key if you want) is specified in
/etc/bluetooth/hcsecd.conf.

I was able to download the addressbook. But when I modified one and
tried to load back to the phone xgnokii died ("segmentation fault" or
"bus error"). I tried to upload an unmodified addressbook, which worked
(maybe nothing was transmitted).

I also tried to do something with the logos and the ringtones and I got
some output like the following (just a collection; I didn't go deeper
inito it):

Event 21 failed with return code 5!
Event 27 failed with return code 1!
LogoTypeEvent called!
height: 0, width: 0
width: 0, height: 0
Event 25 failed with return code 5!
LogoTypeEvent called!
height: 0, width: 0
LogoTypeEvent called!
height: 0, width: 0
LogoTypeEvent called!
height: 0, width: 0
LogoTypeEvent called!
height: 0, width: 0
Event 25 failed with return code 5!

And sone Gtk-CRITICAL ** -messages.

I don't know, if this is caused by the phone or by gnokii or by the
portation to FreeBSD. Maybe I can do some debugging if you want.

Anyway thank you for your help,
