FYI,
I submitted bug #20120 yesterday. Today I had a meeting with pkot on
IRC, and he tried to get me to reproduce #20120 without involving
opensync. It turns out that the gnokii command-line tool cannot parse
UTF8-encoded input regardless of locale, presumably due to the lack of
support for UTF8 in the current implementation of
gnokii/common/vcal.lx (or even in flex itself). The symptom is that
messages get truncated at the first accented character (which is a
different problem than #20120, in which the last character gets
corrupted not truncated, regardless of whether it is accented or not).
I'll keep the list informed of future developments if any (/me also
has to work from time to time).
Regards,
