Lock file error. (GNOKII Version 0.6.26)...what is this

Hi All,
Hope you all will be fine,
gnokii and smsd was running very smoothly till its last used, but today i am having a atrange problem while i runs gnokii --identify command, it's giving me error

GNOKII Version 0.6.26
LOG: debug mask is 0x1
Config read from file /root/.gnokiirc.
Device already locked.
Lock file error. Exiting.
Command is still being executed.
Sorry, phone has not yet been converted to new style. Phone.Functions == NULL!

can you please tell me what does this error means.
