The other way to do is to use current version of libsyncml directly.
Compile it and use syncml-ds-tool:
$ syncml-ds-tool -b 00:25:47:XX:XX:XX 10 --wbxml --identifier "PC
Suite" --sync text/x-vcard Contacts /home/pkot/phone-backup/
