This book:

Introduction to Linux
A Hands on Guide
by Machtelt Garrels

can help. (Name of the file is "Intro-Linux.pdf, so a bit of googleing
will give fast results.) Also, for a command, eg. "cp" (= "copy" in
DOS), you can use "man cp" in a terminal/shell and get detailed
description. How to use man (manuals) you get with "man man". Linux is
very good with help system. 'man -k "some word"' will search all manuals
for the term "some word". Etc.

Is necessary with any Linux. :-)
