[Gnu-arch-users] Changed file not showing as changed

I had a curious little incident the other day with tla 1.1. A file was
changed, but wasn't a part of the changeset. 'tla file-diffs' could see
all the changes clear as day, but 'tla changes' wasn't showing it at
all, and as a result, it was never committed.

This particular change involved a global S&R to replace all 'e's with an
'a' in a particular word, so the file size wasn't affected.

The changes were made using vim 6.1 with 'backupcopy' set to 'auto'.

Pristine trees were not in use; the revision library was the source.
And the revision library wasn't altered, because I even deleted it and
recursively added everything, and the file still didn't show up in
'changes'.

Unfortunately, this was a working tree, and I couldn't afford to keep it
around for post-mortem. So as I recall, I 'touch'ed it, and it began to
show up in 'changes'.

I understand this could be a number of factors. I'm just curious as to
which one it might be. :)
