Yeah, I think there's two ways to handle it: 

I think we can get away with removing arch_statb_inode_sig. The catch to
this is that I think people will have to rebuild their libraries and
possibly their working copies.

A workaround to that (that I personally think we shouldn't make) is that
we make a change later in the code that, if it finds dev= in an inode
line, silently removes it.
