Do these platforms without uname have /bin/sh? In general, I find
that having code in one file (e.g. ~/.arch-params/hook) is easier than
having it in several -- there tend to be more shared bits than unique
bits. As long as there is some common interpreter between two
platforms, it seems cleaner to have the two share a hook script.
I can understand having Win32-native tla use a different name for its
hook script, but having different Unix platforms use different names
seems non-Unixy.
