That's what I was looking for. As I explained, I am working on a
linux--arm--2.6 tree and need a way to tag it linux--arm--2.6.7--1
(usually with --seal) so that other people can refer to it, or branch
from it (I could find a way to use configs to allow branching). If a big
patch goes into the linux--arm--2.6, I would like to tag the --patch-X
to linux--arm--2.6.7--2.
I could use something like linux--arm-release--2.6.7--patch-2 (or
--versionfix-2) but this means that the patch should be in both arm and
arm-release branches.
I think this feature is only useful for a few people, where they cannot
control the version but only add patches to it.
