Pulling old stuff back out is very, very easy if you keep a fully
populated revision library -- just copy the file out of the revlib copy
of your tree it was last in, and (if you're using explicit tags, which I
don't) reassign it its old ID.
Given that this ("copy the old file out of a spot on your hard drive")
is so easy, I don't see any particularly reason to use an old/
directory.
