A little bit o' gdb and the problem was found. apply-changeset was actually
doing the job, it was just throwing a bodgy error *after* doing it's job.
BTW, am I doing these BugGoo things right? I keep getting all sorts of
freaky errors and nothing seems to be actually happening in the merge tree
department...
