I think we should rather leave it as is in order to make sure that we
don't end up having too large lines that would render poorly in the
printed version...  or in the Info manual viewed in an 80x25 terminal.

I agree, but I would like to find a way to render them on a single line for web interfaces running at higher resolutions.
