Speaking of "yet another snippet extension"...
tempo-snippets is one. :)
The design goal for this is to be as compatible to tempo.el as possible,
so that tempo-templates can be turned into snippets with little work.
The advantage is that tempo syntax is well established and widely used,
giving a broader base for exchanging collections.
IMPORTANT:
Correct use of this package in C-derived (and maybe other) modes depends
on a recent Emacs bug fix. It will NOT work in GNU Emacs 22.1, but
should work in 22.1.90. I hope for some more feedback from Emacs
testers before 22.2.
