I'm looking into it, but iso-cvt-translate-from appears to be a keymap
that's also an illegal function, and so far I'm getting nowhere trying
to find out how to deal with this construct (though I haven't looked at
the source for iso-cvt.el yet)

Please let me know it that turns up any problems (if you find it works
