Mmm! Nice! I'm posting a followup, since I use a (uk) dvorak keyboard
and quail doesn't seem to cope with that. However, 10 minutes of
keyboard banging gave the following:

Attachment: keyboard-layout.el
Description: application/emacs-lisp

(hopefully the mega-long line with the string in it won't be broken by
my mailer).

Similar hacks presumably deal with other layouts.
