yes. soon i'll be forced to be assigned such an eID card (and i'm
already forced to carry a paper ID anywhere I go in the Netherlands)
then i'll definitely need free software to read on my own what's in it
and, if it contains hashed data, i want to know which information it
links to me (as a progress to current systems, which aren't providing
this possibility).

i guess the best litterature on the topic has been written by Kafka.

however in this article we tried our best to show why is scary,

may provide some more arguments and a recent scenario for policy
makers to think about, all doe it focuses on CCTV cameras, the false
positives formulation relates to any architecture of total information
control.
