I'm working on creating a libre version of u-boot with the hopes of talking to the u-boot project in the future.A version or tools to deblob any useful version? Many boards that might be good targets for non-embedded distros have their own forks of u-boot. I used Linux-libre's deblob-check to find the blobs that I listed, with some work on identifying false positives it could be useful for generating freed u-boot tarballs.
libreCMC now has custom versions of u-boot with components removed according to this debian bug report : https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=750912 Others can review prior messages in this thread in regards to u-boot. If anyone finds other non-libre parts in u-boot, please feel free to chime in to let me know. or file a bug at: http://wiki.librecmc.org Also, docs, acx-mac80211 and b43-tools have been removed. Old u-boot versions have now been removed from the libreCMC src. repository as well. -- Robert Call (Bob) http://librecmc.org
