I contacted Jouni, and his words are:
I'd call it more of a privacy issue than security issue in general,
I think of privacy as a part of security.

anyway, as far as I know, that PNO functionality is used only on
Android.
That is good news. It means we probably never had a problem and don't
need to do anything. But it would be useful for someone to verify this.
