Speak for yourself.  I don't want to disallow proprietary licences, I
want to have them shunned.  There is a difference, that of choice.

Not really.  They want to have it replaced by Public Domain so that
they may exploit it.  If you take a look at the ramblings of people
like Darl McBride, it is clear that he wants to be able to exploit
GPLed software as he feels fit rather than the author.

So he wants to have the author's rights confiscated by the state for a
presumed public profit.  That's socialist.  That goes beyond simply
declaring the GPL invalid: if it were invalid, then the default
copyright would set in and Caldera would not be allowed to sell Linux
under any condition, let alone any condition they like.
