What does the term "legal action" mean

As far as I can tell, the legal action (as in "lawsuit")

No. A lawsuit is the culmination of much legal action that takes
place beforehand.

Not much "beforehand" from the SFLC since they didn't even bother to
verify their client's had any registered copyrights.

Why did they sue Verizon and not Actiontec, stupid?

Because the SFLC lawyers are too incompetent to understand that the
GPL is legally unenforceable.

Presumably because Verizon was the public face for the distribution of the software.
