Where is the offer of GPL source code? Is TomTom violating the GPL?
Where is the SFLC. He. He.

Sincerely,

Got me.
I haven't been following this other than at a very high level.
IOW Microsoft is going after Tomtom.
TomTom does have a fairly extensive stash of GPL source on their website that presumably has resulted from the heat applied back in 2004 by the FSF watchdogs.

What is kind of interesting here is that the GPL purists, notably SJVN, a Linux blogger of note, is insisting that TomTom be barred from making any kind of patent deal with Mr. Softee. He suggests that the GPL provision denying such deals be invoked and TomTom be put out of business thereby. That is kind of harsh treatment of a GPL player who has been abiding by the rules for a long time. Vicious folk, those GPLers!

The problem with the GPL fanatics is that choice is only good when you make
the same choices that *they* make.
Have a conflicting or differing opinion and they will come after you like
rabid dogs on the attack.

Yeh... A rabid dog attack *and* an automatic voluntary dismissal to any federal suit they file.

It boils down to either being 100 percent with them or you being the enemy
in their eyes.
