Is there a disconnect between your brain and your typing?

Copyright and patent misuse arise from attempts to restrain
competition, whether or not those attempts rise to the level
of antitrust. Restraint of competition is universally held
to be attempts to prevent creation of competitive products.

As the GPL does just the opposite, there will be no misuse.
