Neither paperback nor hardcover is a modified version of a book YOU

The work is the same but markets are different. Hardcover-vs-paperpack
is a "specific field of endeavor"/scope-of-use limitation, Hyman.

"6. No Discrimination Against Fields of Endeavor

The license must not restrict anyone from making use of the program in a
specific field of endeavor. For example, it may not restrict the program
from being used in a business, or from being used for genetic research."

How come that the GPL is a certified license with the
FSF/SFLC not objecting, silly Hyman?

(GNG is a derecursive recursive derecursion which pwns GNU since it can
be infinitely looped as GNGNGNGNG...NGNGNG... and can be said backwards
too, whereas GNU cannot.)
