If you will be able to load scenes into an optimised scene rep or not, I don't know yet. This will also be depending on the G3DSceneRep/G3DScene concept. In general, one of the highest priorities is to keep it simple and flexible so that it can be used for many different purposes.

I personally plan to use it for rendering relatively large scenes.

Great! So would we be so bold as to say that there is no necessary upper limit? Here's the trick, though, which was why I thought of dynamic loading: will the constraint be memory, or disk space (counting swap space as memory)? If we can read from disk, we can support much larger scenes, at the cost of higher complexity.

Incremental loading from disk is the ultimate goal. I do not know how high its priority really is.

I guess I'm just asking if we want to support incremental loading of scenes. I can think of a couple of ways to handle it, depending on the design of the G3DScene/G3DSceneRep.

What do you have in mind?
