In Kernel Cousin 37 there is a discussion of GNUe documentation in which
someone suggests that XML is preferable to OpenOffice.org.
FYI, the internal formats of OpenOffice.org *are* XML. They zip the files
before storage, but if you unzip them, the sxw, etc. formats are all XML,
except IIRC for things like bitmap images.
