I ran matcher_check against one of the Lazarus games
(Lazarus-gnugo-3.2-200205011927.sgf), and ran into a life and death
problem that gnugo seems to have a lot of trouble with.  From move 23-40,
approximately, several illegal state transitions occur, and some of them
don't even make much sense (black dying on black's move, outside the area,
and then coming to life on white's move).

This position is probably worth looking at more.

It ends with a ko, which white wins.
